Auction Note – Railroad Engineering Services, LLC (RES) has completed a major job and is selling items no longer needed in future operations. Almost every item in this auction has been on the job working recently and is job ready. Exceptions are noted. Be at this auction either bidding onsite live or online to buy good rail related equipment!

Location/Address – With only a few exceptions, all items are located at the RES yard at 1756 Route 481, Charleroi, PA 15022 which is where the live onsite auction will be conducted. In Lenexa, Kansas are a spike driver and a spike puller and in Little Rock, Arkansas are tie cranes, a spiker, a puller and a TRIPP. These items will be sold during the course of the live auction. Details in the item descriptions. 

Type Auction – This will be an onsite auction combined with a virtual online auction! All items will be live auctioned during the onsite auction and all will be available to bid on online as well. Whether you are bidding in person onsite or logged into Proxibid, it will progress as a typical live auction. Of course Pre-Bidding, Early Bidding and Max Bidding will be available online – beginning a few days before the auction.

Buyers Premium/Fee/Terms – Applicable Pennsylvania sales tax will be charged at this auction. Buyers Premium of 8% will be added to the bid price of each item/all purchases – this applies to purchases made on site and online. An additional premium of 4% (total 12%) will be added if bidding online. If you bid online, invoices will be emailed to the email address used at registration immediately after the conclusion of the auction. Included in this email will be the Invoice and Wire Transfer Instructions and Credit Card Payment Link. Payment is expected the day of the auction or the next morning. If you don’t see your invoice in your inbox soon after the last items of the auction sells please check spam/junk folders. 

Inspection – Buyers are encouraged to inspect items before bidding. Inspection is the day before the auction from 8AM-4:30PM. Load Out \ Equipment Removal – The small items will be loaded with a straight mast forklift. If buying a piece of rail equipment/large items the best plan will be to send in a rail dedicated trailer. There will be a (approx.) 30,000lb straight mast forklift onsite to assist. Please read individual descriptions for more details and listen for auction day announcements. BRING/SEND AUCTION INVOICE WITH YOUR DRIVER TO SHOW TO PERSONNEL ON SITE or you will not be able to remove purchases. Please try to remove purchases of small items within a few days after the auction and larger items within a couple weeks. Any items left on the yard after a week or so may be subject to storage fees. 

Shipping – Neither Blackmon Auctions nor RES will package items for shipping or arrange shipment of items – this will be the responsibility of the Buyer. 

Storage Fees / Liability – 

If you leave your item on this site after the assigned removal date(s) you may be subject to storage fees. Buyers: Upon the fall of the gavel (SOLD) the item becomes your responsibility so please make sure you notify your insurance company etc. 

Condition of Equipment Although most of these items come off their jobs working and functioning well, the items are being sold “AS IS”, “WHERE IS” AND “WITH ALL FAULTS” AND NEITHER BLACKMON NOR RES MAKES AND WILL NOT BE DEEMED TO HAVE MADE ANY REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, NOW OR HEREAFTER, AS TO THE VALUE, CONDITION, DESIGN, OPERATION, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR USE OR FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MAINTENANCE OR MARKETABILITY OF THE ITEMS OR THE QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS OR WORKMANSHIP IN, OR THE ABSENCE OF ANY DEFECT IN, THE ITEMS, OR ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. Any guess/estimation of condition printed is based off information gathered from past history but hasn’t been confirmed. Blackmon Auctions sells all items in the traditional auction form, AS IS Where Is/No Warranties or Guarantees regarding condition. A complete mechanical inspection by a qualified professional has not been conducted so there may be issues/imperfections that are not known to us. Our estimations of condition are not to be considered a guarantee of functionality now or into the future. Presumption of functionality beyond the information we are able to provide/determine is the responsibility/liability of the bidder. We hope your auction experience is a successful one!
