THE CYCLE OF BUSINESS


I know that some of my customers are older than I am MUCH older than I am. Those customers I'm sure can look back at their lives and see the cycle that the economy and businesses go through. I am a young 39 years old but I can remember a few up and down cycles in the equipment and auction industry. In case some of you missed it, the past couple of years are what we might call a "Down Cycle"

The good thing about down turns in the economy is that there must always be an upturn. For the past couple of months I have been noticing a consistent climb in equipment and truck prices. Because of this, it is a seller’s market. I talk to customers everyday that tell me how they are selling their equipment as fast as they can set it on their yard and put a for sale sign on it. That is great and I am happy if they are happy, but let me give you some numbers.

For every auction Blackmon Auctions does, we mail out thousands of brochures to customers all over the country and emails to customers all over the world.
